Love Me, Love My Voice Episode 27 Story: “Mo Qingcheng performed, Gu Sheng was a waterfall of tears”

Noticing that everyone was running on empty, Mo Qingcheng decided to play the hero and whipped up a late-night snack, making sure Gu Sheng got her fair share. He handed her a plate and urged her to savor it on the sidelines. The gang gave him props for stepping up his cooking game. Later that evening, they pulled an all-nighter to set up the stage and fine-tune the sound, aiming for that flawless performance prep.

Now, at the final tech rehearsal, Zhou Zheng dropped a reminder bomb about staying focused and nipping potential issues in the bud. Seeing Guai Guai looking a tad jittery, Dou Dou swooped in with some pep talk. Guai Guai spilled about her live performance in Yangshuo, where she went all out with barrage comments on her computer. Now, with the spotlight on her, Dou Dou dropped some wisdom, telling her to chill and just flaunt her skills – assuring her everything would be A-okay.

The crowd started rolling in, with Geng Xiaoxing, Qi Yao, and the company president snagging front-row seats. They were all about the ancient vibes of the stage. The company president let slip that Gu Sheng would be belting out a song, and to add to the hype, Ling Long Ti Tuo would be on the vocals. Geng Xiaoxing and Qi Yao were practically doing cartwheels in excitement.

The Ancient Style Gala kicked off with Zhou Zheng still holding down the hosting fort. Gu Sheng and Mo Qingcheng took in the spectacle from a distance on stage, feeling all the feels. The opening number was “The Boundaries of the Flourishing Age,” fan-chosen and all, with Wang Ke and Ling Long Ti Tuo doing the honors. Fei Shao, Gradually, and the rest of the gang followed suit. The stage setup was top-notch, and the vibe was electric, hitting a high note right from the get-go.

Ling Long Ti Tuo rolled out with “Qi Ao,” a tune dripping with ancient vibes. Geng Xiaoxing was going bananas in the crowd, even more pumped than the Yangshuo performance. Gu Sheng, caught off guard by the live magic of her song, couldn’t help but give Mo Qingcheng a spontaneous hug.

Gu Sheng dashed backstage to congratulate Zou Diao Er on nailing her debut song. Zou Diao Er was gearing up for her moment, and Mo Qingcheng threw in some last-minute encouragement and reminders. Gu Sheng joined her buddies in the stands, and the next act was the famed dubbing segment of “Jiangnan Lao,” starring Zhou Zheng, Dou Dou, and Zou Diao Er.

True to their Perfect Dubbing rep, Zhou Zheng and the crew aced it, getting roars of approval from the crowd. With that, the Ancient Style Gala wrapped up officially. Zhou Zheng and the whole gang took a bow at the front of the stage, and the crowd demanded an encore. The curtain dropped slowly, but then, surprise! Mo Qingcheng appeared behind it, bathed in the spotlight. He belted out a traditional tune, and the audience quickly caught on – it was Qing Qing Ci in the flesh.

Mo Qingcheng poured his heart into the performance, and down below, Gu Sheng was a waterfall of tears. Only she knew that this was Mo Qingcheng’s swan song as Qing Qing Ci. Qing Qing Ci bid farewell in style, and the audience erupted in cheers. Mo Qingcheng bowed three times, marking his exit from the Qing Qing Ci role and stepping into the shadows behind the scenes. He thanked everyone for the ride and acknowledged the camaraderie over the years. In the audience, Gu Sheng was clinging to every note, finding it hard to say goodbye, silently letting the tears flow.

Backstage, Gu Sheng tracked down Mo Qingcheng, claiming she’d been on a wild goose chase. Mo Qingcheng pulled her into a hug, wrestling with a mix of emotions. He called everyone his pals and spilled his own sense of reluctance. Gu Sheng offered comfort, assuring him that wherever Qing Qing Ci ventured, the melody of Sheng Sheng Man would always be right there, keeping him company. And that’s the wrap on this emotional rollercoaster of a performance!
