Highlight 1 – Meeting at the Marina

Start Onur walking on the marina tier, ece untying something asking Onur to take a look 

Ece: Can you give me a hand
Ece: Can you put the pasarel on the boat? I couldn’t, it’s a bit heavy.

He helped her but with a suspicious look. She pretends to fall and he with impressive reflexes grabbed her.

Ece: I’m scared. Don’t let go! 

Of course this was all an act from Ece showing how professional she’s at her job!

Highlight 2 – Fight on the Boat

Onur meets some foreigners on the neighbouring boat while Ece still handling the ropes of her boat.

Onur: Something will happen to that woman (while Ece is climbing on the mast).
..
Onur: By the way you misunderstood. I’m not here to buy a boat.
Herzog: Why are you here?”

They get inside while Ece still doing maneuvering the ropes

The men on the boat show pull out their arms towards Onur who doesn’t seem surprised at all. In the meantime they hear the music coming from the boat with Ece dancing at the rhythm.

Onur: I’ve heard from my friends that you’ve been smuggling diamonds into the country. If I’m not mistaken, you have 28 karate diamonds. My rival offered two and a half million. I’m an ambitious jeweller. I’m offering you four million.
Herzog: As I was saying… …. You have me confused with someone else. I don’t have any diamonds.

And they recharge their pistols. Onur in the meantime realised that the diamonds must be in the ice bucket. There’s a fight on the boat with the boat owner quickly grabbing the diamonds to keep them safe from Onur. Ece in the background shown relaxed sunbathing and moving at the rhythm. Seems that her job for the day is done. Onur continues to chase  Herzog around the city.

We’re used to Burcu Ozber comedic stants but looking at Sukru enjoying action while still giving the scenes that funny flare typical of Turkish comedies is quite a surprise.

He meets the member of his team and he realises that his watch is missing! “I must have dropped it at the marina” he says not realising that someone tricked him.

Highlight 3 – First punch

At the Marina, Ece finds someone on the deck of her boat and calls him perfect, hitting him multiple times. He dared touch her multiple times and bam a punch in his face and down the water. Onur intervened and bam another punch to him.

Ece: I’m so , so sorry (after she realised it’s Onur)
Onur: What are you doing?
Onur: Can’t you see I’m trying to help you?
Ece: Okay, but do you think I need help? I’ve already hung him up, and I’ve given him a high-five.
Onur: Do you know who I am ?
Ece: Do you know who i am?
Ece: I won’t come to the marina again just because of guys like you.

In the meantime Ece receives a call and she says “No, he’s alive, so all my plans are ruined” apparently disappointed that Onur is still alive. I like that she’s self absorbed in her work and hope she will not fall for him anytime soon. I have full faith in you Burcu! You didn’t lose your charms and ability of delivering 5 lines in 5 seconds! Script writer must be very busy when he handles an actress like you.

Highlight 4 – Uncovering Onur’s Plan

Ayla has a brief encounter with the boat owner who works with the spy/investigator team and in a couple of minutes she got the info on the man Onur chased (boat owner). The team asks Onur what happened to his face and are really enjoying the fact that a woman punched him in his face. In the meantime Ece seems to have a conversation with a boyfriend in Germany if I understood well but she doesn’t seem particularly looking forward to meet him. Who is he? Is it really her boyfriend, a friend or just a colleague? 

The team is looking into Civan Koral, the owner of one of the biggest jewelry companies in Turkey. The man is involved in gold smuggling but also is the main man behind Turkish international branch for criminal organization including weapons, drugs, money laundering to name a few. So the plan is to bring down Civan Koral so that automatically they will bring down the Turkish branch.

“And our chief Onur found a way to get into that house”

Highlight 5 – Onur dating already!

This must be some months ago – we see Onur making his entrance to a jewellery auction and the camera focuses on an attractive young lady who finish up bidding for the same item that Onur wins. The lady runs after him as she’s intrigued by someone outbidding her, obviously part of Onur’s plan which works out in Dizi but would never work in real life. 

Herzog gave the spy/investigation team the number of Kadir Turan, the Civan Koral’s bodyguard. The bodyguard is entrusted with a list of todo and if they got hold to it they will manage to arrest Civan and ruin all international connections.

Most enticing moment is Onur asking for his team to look into the woman that beat him up. Now I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether he’s doing this for professional or personal reasons. I vote for both!

Highlight 6 – Onur surprises Hilal, Ece surprises Onur

We see Onur in front of a villa with flowers. Somehow he manages his way in to a bedroom, he puts the flowers on the bed and is leaving a note with the flowers. Stupidly the bodyguard eaves him alone to get a pen! I mean I know it’s a comedy but even a 6 year old could have come up with something better. Who let’s someone inside their house simply to deliver a bouquet of roses. Also the team seem to have installed cameras in the house already by posing as electricians!

Luckily, the team manages to distract this man so that Onur can look at the place without interference. The idea is for Onur to put a surveillance camera in Civan’s room. They also found a safe. Finally the man realizes his mistake and heads towards Civan’s room. Of course Hilal calls Kadir just in time and she gives a big hug to Onur. He wants to see where she lives and wanted to surprise her despite Civan not allowing this unless they’re official. He visited her as soon as he landed off the plane.  (How did he manage to become so close to Hilal when he got to know about Civan so recently ? Perhaps there’s a back story into this or i’m missing something) Even her best friend Ece arrived from England and of course Onur knows that she’s lying. They both arrived one from London and the other from Ankara to surprise Hilal and they shake hands with a smile or rather grin on their face knowing that they are both plotting something.

Then a short funny moment between the two.

Ece: Onur, what happened to your eyebrow? Are you all right?

Onur: It’s nothing important, he was a rude and unruly person, I would have done what was necessary but you now me, it’s not worth it for such people.

Onur: My love, aren’t you curious about your surprise? (But when did these two become so close?)

Hilal: I am. Ece darling, enjoy yourself, we’ll be right there. 

Ece: I’m here.

Onur follows Hilal outside while still giving a pleased look to Ece as if telling her that no one is going to ruin his plans.

They found the video of Ece hitting Onur and realise she’s the same woman from the casino. Onur is asking where Ece came from. Apparently Ece cooks great food and she’s helping Hilal to run a new restaurant for her. Ece who saved her from a rich older man now is in charge of approving all Hilal’s suitors. And Omer avoids an intimate moment with Hilal saving himself by a kiss on the forehead.

Highlight 7 : Change of plans – Civan and Hilal moving back to London

Ece started preparing food while Hilal and Onur moved to the kitchen. Onur places a camera in a plant to spy on Ece.

The two seem to forget they’re not alone in the room. In the meantime Civan wants Hilal to head back to London while Onur as per script wants her to stay in Istanbul. They want to find a way to keep Civan in Istanbul before it’s too late.

Highlight 8 – Marriage Proposal

Ece: Hilal! Look, such men don’t get married. They don’t want to get married, they don’t think about marriage. They fall in love, exploit her and then… and call it quits. Onur will never marry you. He won’t.
Onur: Hilal. Will you marry me? I know you will. I didn’t plan it like this. I’ve been trying to surprise you all morning. But I can’t wait any longer. I can’t bear you going away without me.
Hilal: Onur. 
Onur: What are you saying? 
Hilal: I can’t believe it. Evet Evet Evet !  (Yes YES YES!)

Highlight 9 – Bickering between the two liers

Onur: Hilal’s brother is very fond of her
Onur: ..he wants to protect her from people who might harm her.
Ece: Uhh..uh. I heard Civan Koral is a very smart man.
Onur: Uhh..uh.
Ece: He’ll know at a aglance who’s trustworthy and who’s not.
Onur: That makes you a trustworthy friend, doesn’t it?
Onur: Lie that she arrived from England. But let’s have fun at the marina in the morning. 
Ece: I’m thinking the same thing about you. He’s a new boyfriend from Ankara. But he hangs out at the marina. Come, let’s go talk to Hilal, let’s explain the situation, let’s see who she’ll be more angry with. Yeah, that’s what I thought. 

And Onur opens the car for her to shut her up. 

Highlight 10 – Onur & Ece in the car

Onur: Why don’t you tell Hilal you’re at the Marina
Ece: I mean, it’s really none of your business. I mean, I don’t want to tell her. But I’d like to clear the air a little bit. 
Onur: Thank you so much. You mean well.
Ece: Yeah, I am like that.
Ece: That boat was my ex, okay? I mean, I broke up with Musi in such an eventful way, and Hilal didn’t want me to see him. That’s why I didn’t tell Hilal, okay? Did I convince you?
Onur: So you came to Istanbul, you made up with your ex and you don’t want Hilal to know about it.
Ece: No, you don’t know dear. I didn’t reconcile with my ex, but if I had, I would have told Hilal, I just didn’t want to tell Hilal right now.
Onur: So you approve of my relationship, Hilal interferes in your relationship, what is this? I don’t understand anything about you guys.

Highlight 11 –  Uncovering the past

Mustafa Gulcan owns the boat Ece was on! 

Onur: Was he really her ex? So she was saying the truth. Go on.
Onur’s Team: He grew up in an orphanage, he’’s a graphic designer. He has a lot of rental income.
Onur: He lives a little too well for an orphaned graphic designer.
Onur’s Team: He’s like a computer office.He’s won a bunch of international awards, and he bought the naming rights to a bunch of websites years ago, then sold them for thousands of dollars.
Onur: He’s a smart guy. Okay. Ece Cetinay.
Onur’s Team: Ece Cetinay. 29 years old. Her parents divorced when she was young, so she left the family early. She worked as a babysitter and went to university in England…..

Highlight 12 – Dinner

Ece makes friends with Elif, Hilal’s younger sister. She goes into her room with Onur looking from his laptop at Ece’s dances, striptease session.

Ece looks at a photo of a baby and kisses him.  Who is the baby? Did Onur see the photo?

Highlight 13 – The ring

Morning jog for Ece and Onur somewhere in Istanbul. Makes me want to visit again to have a breath of fresh air! 

Ece sees Onur at his shop with a client and seems she was impressed by Onur’s words. Hilal joins and introduces Hilal with the fake sister in law, his “uncle”’’s wife. They choose the ring and wrap it for her brother to approve later! 

Highlight 14 – Coffee near Galata Tower.

Ece follows Onur to what seems like a clothes shop and she sees him removing his shirt. Oh yes, of course we must see his six pack otherwise it won’t be a Turkish dizi and Ece goes in. He grabs her and she seems embarrassed. He was finding a suit for the engagement. 

Note: It was a pretty unnecessary scene just to build the sexual tension between the duo and in the meantime we can enjoy Galata Tower neighbourhood or Sukru’s abdominals – which one you prefer.

Highlight 15 – Engagement Party

Nothing interesting apart from the chemistry build up in the kitchen. Ece is wearing a long black dress showing her back and cleavage. Onur despite being busy  and determined to open the safe, cannot lift his eyes from her cleavage but after unvoluntaraly complementing her he tries to take it back by telling her she needed a necklace or a bracelet.

They danced – Onur with Hilal and Ece with Cihan and then someone dropped wine on Onur (so that he’ll have time to open the safe). The ring also disappeared! Onur went up to Cihan’s room to change while the others look for the diamond ring. He goes to the safe and find someone who has opened the safe before him. Operation is cancelled and he goes to chase the thief wearing a black hoodie suit. I don’t know how they’re going to explain him disappearing from the party next week!

Highlight 16 – Catching the Thief

The thief escapes, then finds a moment when to hit but he saw a shadow and fell on the thief who he discovers is Ece. He’s sweaty, surprised and there’s a kiss and then he gazes at her with surprise, anger and attraction.

Vote –

It’s impossible not to compare this to the last summer comedy by Burcu “Ask Mantik Intkam”. The story seem a little less interesting between the duo at the moment since this is their first encounter, there’s no common history  at this moment as we don’t have any insights on their past. The plot is still flat, the chemistry is great and the banter is 100% foolproof cause Burcu always delivers. Now I’m intrigues about the baby’s photo that she kissed before sleeping. Hope they use the plotline where we can start uncovering the characters slowly and not leave everything up to the last episode when Fox decides to stop the show.  Let’s hope I can enjoy Burcu at least for another 20 episodes!
