My Demon Episode 5 Story: Only You
Tango Fighting Moment
The episode commences with the aftermath of Do Hee using pepper spray on the thuds attacking Gu Won in the previous episode. Jung Gu Won seizes her wrist, and they fight the thuds while dancing a tango showcasing an impressive chemistry between them. Amid the tango dance he recites the rules of a bodyguard gazing at her eyes: ” Never let her out of your sight. Never stay far from her. Never… fall in love with her.” Despite his outward composure, the experience leaves him with a heavy heart as they swiftly escape upon hearing police sirens. Jung Gu-Won, seems to be genuinely attracted to Do Hee. The sudden realization leaves Do-hee in shock, and as police sirens wail in the background, Gu-won urges her to leave. They instantly teleport to her apartment, where Gu-won, without much explanation, releases her hand and heads home. Do-hee, sensing something amiss, tries to follow, but Gu-won remains distant and barely acknowledges her.
Do Hee Investigates Gu Won’s Feelings
Meanwhile at the Sun-wool Foundation, during a sword practice session, the Ga-young accidentally cuts herself with what seems an unharmful sword. She’s missing her director and can’t help but dwell on the growing closeness between Do-hee and Gu-won. Bok-gyu insists that Gu-won must continue as Do-hee’s bodyguard, assuring Ga-young that Gu-won’s heart is ice-cold and immune to falling for Do-hee. Little does he know that our demon’s heart is softening, and he shockingly admits to falling for Do-hee. Gu-Won, questions himself while sipping wine, wondering about the tattoo’s significance and its effect on how he feels towards Do-Hee. Do Hee, too, contemplates why he was always holding her wrist and now he abruptly disappeared. Despite making up her mind not to be clingy, her curiosity prompts her to investigate his feelings.
We move on to Song Kang’s shower scene to the delight of the fans. He checks himself in the mirror trying to notice any differences. At the same time, we see Do Hee inside the Sun-Wol Foundation’s building. Intrigued by the unique decor, Ga-young comes from behind while Do-Hee admires a painting and they have a short chat where Do Hee understands that Ga-young knows her. Sneaking into Jung Gu Won’s office, Do Hee observes the unique aspects of his surroundings – the glass of wine, the library filled with books, and the pool overlooking vintage clocks. He finds her trying to reach for a file which annoys him. Since he’s shirtless, she notices the cross on his neck and also gazes further down. Ga-young adds an element of jealousy to the scene when she bulges in expressing concern that he’s showing off naked in front of a woman and that all women would go crazy after seeing him like this. Alone, Jung Gu Won clarifies with Do Hee that he left her because he didn’t want to stay close to her. Do-Hee now has found her answers and thinks she cleared any misunderstandings between them. Hurt, she decides to focus on herself and disregard Gu-won. Despite his seemingly cold demeanor, Gu-won ensures Do-hee’s safe return home but remains distracted during Ga-young’s performance.
Did Do-gyeon Kill Someone?
In another subplot, Gwang-chol leaves recorded footage of Gu-won and Do-hee at the exchange spot and directs his accomplice to check a specific locker. He discusses the footage with someone named Abraxas in a chatroom, expressing frustration at Gu-won’s interference and vowing to complete the task. In another scene, we see Noh Do Kyung, discuss his medication with his therapist. He also admits to having killed someone, only to retract it one second later. He said that he was just seeking attention.
Then we move into a shareholder meeting, where at first they seem to support Do Hee as the youngest chairwoman in history. However, Noh Seok Min, the CEO reminds them how they all took bribes when he disbanded the audit team and manipulated them to elect him as the new chairman.
Simultaneously, Do-gyeon reacts angrily when his therapist refers to him as a lunatic. He attacks the therapist in the restroom, revealing his volatile nature. At home, Do-gyeon’s father questions the duration of Mr. Cha’s employment, learning of Mr. Cha’s two-year stint and his alleged greed. Suk-min, noticing blood stains on his wife’s shirt, questions Se-ra about Do-gyeon’s activities, but Se-ra remains indifferent. A dream of the latter of Madam Ju taking pills and collapsing suggests her potential involvement in Cheon-sook’s death.
Tension Between CEO and Her Bodyguard
Do Hee finds the shirt stained during their initial encounter and discards it in the trash. During a sword dance performance, Jung Gu Won appears distracted and is described as an “empty shell these days.” The next day, tension between Do-hee and Gu-won is palpable, with employees noticing the strained atmosphere. Annoyed by gossip and questions, Gu-won starts acting out, ignoring orders and displaying frustration. Bo K-gyu, disguised as a deliveryman, visits Do-hee’s office, leading to a misunderstanding with Da-jeong attacking him. Gu-won intervenes, clearing the confusion. Simultaneously, Gwang-chol infiltrates the office, adding an element of suspense.
Shareholder Meeting
The board of directors meeting reveals Suk-min’s swift manipulation of shareholders. Su-ahn supports her brother, enticed by his promise to invest in her company, Mirae Clothings. After the meeting, Su-ahn confronts Do-hee, attempting to cause a scene, but Seok-hoon intervenes. Suk-min, adopting a gentlemanly facade, mocks Do-hee’s inability to find a willing man, with Do-hee handling the situation with composure. Su-ahn then directs her attention to Gu-won, who firmly rejects her advances.
Gu-Won’s Jealousy and Do Hee In Danger
Gu-won becomes increasingly bothered by Do-hee and Seok-hoon’s secret conversation in the car. Seok-hoon reveals suspicious financial discrepancies in the company’s accounts from two years ago, raising Do-hee’s concerns. Gu-won, feeling jealous, drives her to meet a lawyer, emphasizing the need for more evidence in a potential fraud case. Despite police updates indicating a lack of progress, Do-hee proceeds with her original blind date with a prosecutor, further fueling Gu-won’s jealousy. Lots of funny moments with Gu-won using his magic to shut the prosecutor’s mouth with a lobster. When Do-Hee suggests registering their marriage, Gu-won expresses disinterest, prompting them to decide to find the culprit instead. Threatening the mafia by pointing all knives and forks in their direction, Gu-won shocks Do-hee. Do Hee releases her wrist saving the man. Gu-won in fury bursts out saying “You are my problem. My life was perfect before I met you. If it weren’t for you, I would be just fine,” leading to her decision to end their partnership. Jung Gu Won hands her the car keys and departs.
Returning home with Da-jeong, Do-hee discovers music playing in her house. Gwang-chol, using chloroform, incapacitates her and ties her to the rooftop. Upon awakening, she screams for help. Jung Gu Won appears, gripping her wrist, torn between letting her go and saving her. The suspense builds as he grapples with a difficult decision.
