Do Hee pops the question, handing over the ring. He, however, declines the marriage proposal in front of everyone. “That was the worst bet ever,” she thought and she shuts down any opinions, just like she did with Madame Ju’s nephew. He tails her to provide protection, emphasizing the separation of work and life.
Meanwhile, the office crew delves into inheritance discussions. One suggests framing her mother for stabbing her, proposing saying that her mum had Alzheimer. A 13-year-old flashback shows Madame Ju’s son confessing to a drunken mistake, prompting Madame Ju to demand justice. In the garden, Madame Ju’s nephew continues to smoke.
Dohee remains quite chill, having already moved on though she kept sitting at the back of the car. Although she referred to the proposal as a “small accident,” even all the songs in the radio hinted at marriage. He takes the letter from Madam Ju, and Dohee tries to justify her proposal. However, he overhears her planning revenge against him.
Dohee discusses the proposal with Madame Ju’s nephew, explaining that he’s the same guy she went on blind dates with, saved her multiple times and that can defend her better than anyone else.
Gowun informs his butler about Do Hee’s marriage proposal, and the butler starts to tell him about what happened in the movie “Bodyguard,” where hatred turned into love. However, Gowun still sees love as a weakness.
Today, her oppa (Madam Ju’s nephew) decides to guard her from the sofa, later moving outside her door. Dohee hands him her phone, adding himself as an emergency contact. Feeling alone after 17 years, she wants to read Madame Ju’s letter but receives a group chat link showing howshe was turned down. He compares marriage to a meat eater marrying a pig, emphasizing, “There’s no need for me to get too involved.”
The artist working for him points out the news about the proposal. Soon after he receives a threatening phone call from Do Hee. Wearing sunglasses due to sudden celebrity status, she demands an explanation, feeling embarrassed. He suggests she find another person to marry, and he feels relieved. Turning her down twice in a day, he comments on humans’ pursuit of happiness. He then quietly left Madame Ju’s letter in her handbag.
The letter starts with, “I left you alone once again.” She tells her that she is leaving her in a battlefield where tears aren’t allowed. Madame Ju advises her to marry so that she is not alone and to “be sure to find someone who will keep you company.”
The clan whose boss was killed are also attending a funeral and vow to avenge their boss. Guwon starts recalling his past when he was human, realizing he will soon start aging without his powers. Do Hee confronts him, threatening him with the tattoo, and he wants to stop being her bodyguard. He desires to touch her wrist all the time, but she refuses.
Do Hee gets curious about her actual date and probably now is more keen to find a companion. She also tries to check the security camera to find out who tampered with Madame Ju’s pills. He initially offers to help find the culprit but changes his mind, thinking she won’t need him afterward. She promises to assist him even after the culprit is caught. However, his powers stop working after touching her wrist, and they end up in an enclosed area where they could hear their colleagues at the office gossipping about them secretly holding hands all the time.
Do Hee soon receives a call from her oppa, and he invites her to dinner. But Jeong Guwon seems not liking this and she ends up going to his work welcome dinner with his colleagues feeling embarrassed having Do Hee around. Holding her hand under the table, he attracts attention from a colleague. When asked why he turned her down, he compares liking her to “liking pork and marrying a pig”. At the moment, his only concern seems to use her for recharging since he’s scared of aging. He leaves, followed by the clan whose boss was killed. They stab him from behind, and he tries to scare them with a newspaper, realizing he doesn’t have the same powers anymore. Despite he didn’t show much respect to her both with her relative and her colleagues she still tries to help him by using a tear gun.
The episode ends up with him getting a little emotional after what she has done.
