My Boss Episode 32 Story: “Cheng Yao resigned, Qian Heng questioned Liang Yiran”

Cheng Yao took charge and went to Wu Jun to apologize for the Ms. Wu incident and decided to resign. Wu Jun suggested she think it over. This incident didn’t harm Jun Heng, and she could have the best of both worlds. Firstly, Cheng Yao could take paid leave and wait for things to settle before returning. If she wasn’t satisfied, they could investigate further and give her an explanation. Lastly, if she still wanted to resign, she could get a recommendation letter.

Cheng Yao thanked Wu Jun sincerely but explained her resignation wasn’t only about Ms. Wu’s incident. For a lawyer, being known only as Qian Heng’s girlfriend isn’t what she wanted. Wu Jun saw she had made up her mind, so there wasn’t much to say.

The next day, Tan Ying was upset about Cheng Yao’s resignation and angrily placed her resignation letter on Wu Jun’s desk. Wu Jun thought respecting Cheng Yao’s decision was the best option. Cheng Yao was preparing to leave the Ronghua Fugui group. The company rule stated employees who left couldn’t stay in the work group. Tan Ying suggested they could create a new WeChat group for work, but the Ronghua Fugui members would always stay together.

Cheng Yao kept her decision to resign from Qian Heng. Qian Heng and Bao Rui wrapped up their business, and Yu Fei waited for the plane. Yu Fei suggested buying lipstick for Tan Ying, and Bao Rui agreed. Qian Heng stayed seated, thinking Cheng Yao didn’t care much for material things, so he didn’t need to buy any. Later, when Yu Fei and Bao Rui returned with bags full of shopping, Qian Heng felt odd and rushed to the mall to buy every color of lipstick.

At the company, Qian Heng noticed Cheng Yao’s empty desk and felt uneasy. Liang Yiran asked Qian Heng about the limited edition lipstick. Qian Heng forgot and asked Tan Ying about it, who pretended to be on the phone with a client and informed him about Cheng Yao’s resignation.

Despite her reluctance, Cheng Yao decided to write her resume and seek a new job. Qian Heng prepared dinner but was met with Cheng Yao’s decision. When asked about her reason for leaving, Cheng Yao felt puzzled. She felt no one would believe her, like she was making excuses. However, Qian Heng firmly expressed his trust in her.

That night, Qian Heng stayed up, checked the company’s surveillance system, and resolved to clear Cheng Yao’s name. He arranged to meet Wu Jun at the boxing gym. When Wu Jun saw Qian Heng’s anger, he explained the situation. Qian Heng believed Wu Jun hadn’t handled it properly and challenged him to a confrontation.

The following day, after work, Qian Heng barged into Liang Yiran’s office, demanding he undergo the entry procedures and read the lawyer’s handbook. Liang Yiran thought Qian Heng was making a fuss. Qian Heng directly accused Liang Yiran of stealing Cheng Yao’s evidence. Liang Yiran denied it, but when confronted with surveillance footage, he couldn’t deny it.

Qian Heng asked Liang Yiran to publicly apologize at the meeting, but Liang Yiran refused, fearing he’d lose face. Qian Heng threatened to involve the police. Angry, Liang Yiran questioned why he was inferior to Cheng Yao and pleaded with Qian Heng not to involve the police. Wu Jun arrived and mediated, preventing Qian Heng from calling the police.
