Back at the apartment, Cheng Yao didn’t see Qian Heng’s suitcase, realizing he had already left for his business trip. Their planned celebration fell through, leaving Cheng Yao extremely frustrated. While she sat on the sofa feeling lost, Qian Heng suddenly appeared with a small cake. Cheng Yao was surprised and delighted. Qian Heng explained he had changed his flight to honor their agreement. Touched by his gesture, they hugged and kissed tightly, spending a romantic night together.

The next morning, Qian Heng woke up early to catch his flight. Cheng Yao reached out to touch him, only to find a large pillow with Qian Heng’s photo on it next to her. Qian Heng had left a note, urging Cheng Yao to take care of herself and considering their intimate dinner the previous night as a gift for their 200th day of love. At the airport, Qian Heng remained concerned about Cheng Yao and asked Tan Ying to look after her. Tan Ying assured him she would do her best.

Liang Yiran’s assistant took over a divorce case for an elderly couple, but Liang expressed his intent to be less involved in such cases in the future due to their small scale and complexity. He thought of Cheng Yao and assigned her the task. Cheng Yao accepted and went to the client’s residence to gather evidence. The client, living in an old house, demanded compensation for every item from her natal family, including a two-yuan feather duster. Despite feeling frustrated, Cheng Yao recorded each item diligently. Afterward, the client suggested having dinner together but expected Cheng Yao to foot the bill, confident the law firm would reimburse her. Left with no choice, Cheng Yao reluctantly agreed.

Back at the law firm, Cheng Yao worked overtime to organize the client’s property list meticulously. Liang instructed his assistant to find faults, but none were found. Cheng Yao was the last to leave the company. After she left, Liang Yiran returned to the office and deliberately took an important IOU from Cheng Yao’s desk drawer, hoping to cause trouble for her the next day. During the court session, Cheng Yao panicked when she couldn’t find the IOU. With no time for monitoring, she rushed to court and explained the situation to the parties. To calm them down, she signed a certificate agreeing to pay a fine if the lawsuit was lost due to the missing IOU.

Li Chengxuan from Jincheng Law Firm, impressed by Cheng Yao’s performance in court, offered her a position at his firm. Meanwhile, back at the company, Ms. Wu, the client, confronted Cheng Yao, demanding she waive her attorney fees due to the lost IOU. Cheng Yao argued she hadn’t caused any loss to Ms. Wu, but Liang accused her of negligence, paying Ms. Wu out of his own pocket. Wu Jun intervened, rebuking Liang for his actions and reminding him not to let personal feelings interfere with his work
