On the TV show today, Cheng Yao, one of the main characters, got sick. Qian Heng, another character, took good care of her.
Cheng Yao was busy with a divorce case where she represented someone named Lin Fengjuan. Before the trial started, Cheng Yao apologized to Deng Ming, who was also involved in the case. Deng Ming was surprised by her sudden kindness. Cheng Yao even called Deng Ming her brother-in-law. Deng Ming didn’t fully trust her change of heart but accepted her apology. After the court session, Cheng Yao gave Deng Ming some drinks.
During the trial, the lawyers argued a lot, but Lu Jian, another character, didn’t understand much of it. He found it boring and felt sleepy. Finally, the judge ruled against Lin Fengjuan. Deng Ming and Lu Jian were happy about the outcome. They opened some drinks to celebrate but later realized they were tricked into drinking from bottles picked up from the trash. Cheng Xi and Wu Jun, two other characters, were pleased to see Deng Ming embarrassed.
On their way home, Wu Jun asked Cheng Xi why he didn’t expose Deng Ming’s deceit publicly, even though he was a lawyer. Cheng Xi said he was disgusted by Deng Ming and just wanted to avoid him.
Qian Heng returned to Cheng Yao’s city early to surprise her. He knew she might lose the case against Deng Ming and wanted to comfort her. Cheng Yao told him what happened during the trial, and Qian Heng realized he worried too much. Cheng Yao asked for a promise from him if she won the case, suggesting they wear couple necklaces, sing love songs, and share stories. Qian Heng found it too cheesy but agreed to cook for Cheng Yao instead.
Back at their apartment, Qian Heng wanted to reward himself for their growing relationship. They hadn’t kissed yet due to interruptions. Cheng Yao suddenly felt very sick after dinner, and Qian Heng took her to the hospital. She was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis. Qian Heng assured her he’d take care of her and even mentioned that her father was a shareholder at the hospital.
Qian’s mother arrived at the hospital and accused Qian Heng of not taking good care of Cheng Yao. Cheng Yao defended him, but Qian’s mother didn’t listen. After being treated, they returned home, and Qian Heng began learning to cook for Cheng Yao. He made her red dates and millet porridge and fed her himself. Cheng Yao appreciated his care.
With Qian Heng’s help, Cheng Yao recovered quickly and went back to work. She found out that Lin Fengjuan won her case, and Qian Heng praised Cheng Yao at a meeting. He also assigned her a new, more challenging case. Bao Rui noticed Cheng Yao’s progress, and it seemed like Qian Heng’s admiration for her was more than just professional praise.
