Lin Xintong candidly asks Qin Moyao if Chi Shan had any involvement in her father’s untimely demise. Qin Moyao carefully analyzes the situation and concludes that it’s highly likely, considering Chi Shan’s recent role in altering the will and the sudden, mysterious death of Lin Guofu. He notes that Chi Shan’s swift arrangements for her father’s hasty burial raise additional suspicions. Lin Xintong is determined to find evidence, as she believes that a murder of this magnitude must leave traces behind. She instructs Qin Moyao not to divulge her regained eyesight to anyone, particularly in front of Chi Shan and Xia Yuwei, as she intends to maintain the pretense of blindness.

Meanwhile, Xia Yuwei and Chi Shan share a cozy moment in the Lin family’s living room. Xia Yuwei commends Chi Shan for successfully persuading Lin Xintong to dismiss Qin Moyao. However, their intimate moment is disrupted when Qin Moyao assists Lin Xintong into the room. Chi Shan and Xia Yuwei are taken aback by the unexpected presence of Qin Moyao. Chi Shan pushes Qin Moyao aside and questions Lin Xintong about her reasons for keeping him around. Lin Xintong explains her decision by stating that she wants to give Chi Shan a chance to prove his claims that Qin Moyao is pursuing her for money. Chi Shan argues that it’s dangerous to have him in the Lin household, but Lin Xintong confidently asserts that she isn’t afraid, given the support she has from both Chi Shan and Xia Yuwei.

Lin Xintong decides to organize a birthday party and requests that Chi Shan take charge of the preparations, including gifts. Despite their reluctance, Chi Shan and Xia Yuwei have no choice but to comply with her wishes. Many of Lin Xintong’s friends are invited to the celebration, where Xia Yuwei presents the gifts she and Chi Shan had prepared. However, Lin Xintong surprises everyone by declaring that her favorite gift is the engagement ring given to her by Chi Shan, the one adorned with a square diamond. Xia Yuwei attempts to conceal her own engagement ring, but her sharp-eyed friends have already noticed it.
An Embarrassing Revelation
Without hesitation, Qin Moyao takes the engagement ring from Xia Yuwei’s hand and hands it to Lin Xintong. Heartbroken, Lin Xintong comments that she has always treated Xia Yuwei as part of the family, offering her whatever she desired, whether it was clothing or jewelry.
